  • Principal’s Report:
  • There will be a full day training on school safety.
  • Backwards Planning – Teachers look at second quarter curriculum and plan backwards.
  • Date days – Grade level teachers sit down with the principal to discuss scores to see if intervention is needed. There will be another day in November to see if intervention is working.
  • In 2015 there will be a change from ISAT testing to Park testing. The questions will be very difficult.
  • Change compliment cards to Baugher Bucks and behavior bucks.
  • Reviewed ISAT scores posted in hallway.
  • No Halloween costumes.
  • Parent teacher conferences October 24 and 25.
  • Dibbles – test 3 times per year. Test kindergarten through 3rd grade and new or struggling 4th and 5th graders. 55 percent of our students are at benchmark.
  • Treasurer’s Report:
  • Paid for RIF books. New books 3 times per year for students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. The cost is $1 per book.
  • Paid for supplies for Red Ribbon week.
  • Fall Fundraiser –
  • $6,000 in sales.
  • Will be delivered the Wednesday before parent teacher conferences.
  • Misc:
  • Wells Fargo Reading Program for kindergarten through 2nd grade. Wells Fargo donates 10 books from a list to the class library. A volunteer is needed to come to class and read the books over 10 weeks. Kara will order the books. She needs to have the teacher name and grade and if the class has a volunteer reader or if a reader is needed.
  • Barnes and Noble book fair on Saturday November9. We need teacher readers. We will have a book walk where the students will have a chance to win a book every 15 minutes. We will again have a signature drink --- the Dreamy Dragon. There will be a library wish list for families to buy and donate books to the library. Douglas Church will be asked to pass out Barnes and Noble vouchers.
  • The Church donated four big boxes of books to the library.
  • Book Grant – Funds raised are matched by Kia to get Monarch books.
  • Market Day – Monthly contests to get more people to order $25 gift card to the classroom that has the highest percentage of students placing an order. Pie month – only month some of the pies are available.
  • Book Fair – will call to arrange. 1st choice – January 28th during Family Game Night, 2nd choice – December 16th during Family Math Night, and 3rd choice during February parent teacher conferences.
  • January 18 is pancake breakfast at Applebee’s.
