Independent Studies: Students are not allowed to take more than two independent studies to fulfill their elective requirement. Independent studies must be approved by the chair.
Internship: An internship may count as one 200-level elective. Additional internship credits will not count towards fulfilling the elective requirement. Students are encouraged to complete an internship either on or off campus.
Foreign Language: Students considering a Ph.D. are encouraged to take a foreign language.
