Cann AP Statistics Expectations 2013-2014

I. SUPPLIES

Required: Statisticstext, Paper, Ruler, Pencils/Pens, Folders (or Binder), Calculator

Recommended: TI-83 or TI-84 Graphing Calculator

II. PARTICIPATION AND PREPAREDNESS

Participation: You are expected to participate in class on a regular basis and be prepared to go to the board at any time.

You should come to class prepared and ready to learn. You should be respectful to ALL individuals. You should have pride in yourself and your school. **Note- Please do not bring food or drink into the classroom without checking with me first. Water is ok.**

Notebooks: Notebooks should have sections for class notes, completed homework, and all returned tests and quizzes.

Homework: Homework is assigned daily and checked approximately 10 times per quarter at random. Homework must

be done neatlyand completely to receive full credit. Studentswho are absent will have the sameamount of time to make

up the missinghomework as the students who were not absent. Homework reinforces the skillsyou learn in class. In

addition to givenassignments, I suggest you put aside some time formath every night to establish agoodwork ethic.

Homework may becollected and graded as a quiz without prior notice. Plan to correct your homeworkfrom theprevious

night during class. Sometimes I will grade your corrections foraccuracy.

III. ATTENDANCE

You are responsible for all work missed due to absence (field trip, illness, college visit, etc). You should complete any or all of the following:

  • communicate with your teacher via phone/email
  • check eChalk for assignments and tcann.wikispaces.com for class notes
  • complete necessary homework and assignments
  • schedule make-up quiz/test/etc. (prior to absence)

Be aware that if an assignment is due the day that you are absent, you must have it completed the day you return.

Example:You are in class on Monday and homework is assigned. You are absent Tuesday and homework is checked. Wednesday you will need to approach me with your completed homework.

IV. QUARTER GRADES

Tests: 60% Quizzes: 30% HW: 10%

V. FINAL COURSE GRADE

Q1: 25%Q2: 25%Q3: 25%Q4: 25%

The midterm exam will be factored into the Q2 grade and the final project will be factored into the Q4 grade.
