1. Introduction to Subsea Pipeline Valves
The courses deliver a thorough introduction to valves and examine the isolation requirements of subsea production systems. They consider the building blocks of subsea pipeline valves including the key components of:-
· correct selection,
· engineering assurance,
· reliability and maintenance.
· Every stage from specification to installation demands absolute focus to maintain the rigorously high standards necessary to ensure consistent valve functionality over field life. The courses give you the knowledge and insight to engineer effective pipeline isolations in extreme environments where the opportunities for correcting a malfunction can be extremely limited. The vital knowledge you will gain will serve to underpin your project valve contribution which is so pivotal to your entire subsea operation.
Participants gain:
· A complete overview of subsea pipeline valves
· An understanding of how subsea valves are designed, installed and operated
· Knowledge of the technology and processes involved in the manufacture of subsea pipeline valves
· An awareness of current developments and issues shaping subsea pipeline valvesaround the world

2. Introduction to Subsea Xmas Trees
The courses deliver a thorough introduction to Subsea Xmas Trees and examines their operational and functional requirements in relation to a variety of field specific parameters including:-
· Geographical field location
· Produced fluid composition
· Reservoir pressure and temperature
· Water depth
· Installation, completion and workover philosophies
· Field Design Life
The courses begin by outlining a typical drilling programme before describing various Xmas Tree types and associated tooling along with the respective merits and limitations of each type. The courses finish with a presentation of current Xmas Tree development trends.
Participants gain:
A complete overview of Subsea Xmas Trees including:-
• Basic factors influencing Xmas Tree design
• Principles governing Xmas Tree operation
• Knowledge of Installation Tooling, Completion Systems, and Intervention/Workover Systems
• Factors influencing the final choice of Xmas Tree including
technical and commercial considerations (CAPEX and OPEX)
• An awareness of current developments and issues shaping subsea
Xmas Trees around the world
