This game provides an entertaining way to educate students about pregnancy and fetal development to help promote Pro Life.

Preparation:

Print out First Trimester cards on light yellow card stock.

Print out Second Trimester cards on light green card stock.

Print out Third Trimester cards on light purple card stock.

Cut out cards. Laminate or cover with clear contact paper to make them last.Put cardsin 3 small baskets and place near game board.

*Use only the cards that are age appropriate for your students.

Directions:

The game is started by placing the game pieces on CONCEPTION. Determine which player goes first. The order of the remaining players goes according to a clockwise rotation. Each player will draw a first trimester playing card (yellow) to determine the movement of their game piece and will read the information concerning the first trimester of pregnancy that is on their card out loud. The game card will instruct the player to move ahead or back. If a first trimester playing card instructs the player to go back to bed, the player places their game piece on CONCEPTION.The player must also read the physical fact about a baby’s development that is printed in the playing space corresponding to that particular week.

When a player's game piece moves into a second trimester playing space, the player draws from the set of second trimester playing cards (green). The second trimester playing card instructs the player to move their game piece a set number of space(s) and to read out loud information concerning the second trimester of pregnancy. If a second trimester playing card instructs the player to go back to bed, the player places their game piece on the first green second trimester space.The player must also read the physical fact about a baby’s development that is printed in the playing space corresponding to that particular week.

The third trimester playing card instructs the player to move their game piece a set number of space(s) and to read out loud information concerning the third trimester of pregnancy. If a third trimester playing card instructs the player to go back to bed, the player places their game piece on the first purple third trimester space.The player must also read the physical fact about a baby’s development that is printed in the playing space corresponding to that particular week.

The first person to make it to the “Deliver Baby” picture playing space wins the game.
