*Materials:You will need a 3-ring binder, paper, pencil, pen, and textbook must be covered. Make sure you keep a folder and a 3-ring paper hole puncher in your binder. It is highly recommended that you bring an English- Spanish dictionary with your name and class period.
*Grading Policy:
-Total Points System: Simply Divide Total Earned Points By Total Possible Points

*Tests: Tests will include vocabulary, cultural topics, current events, reading comprehension, listening comprehension and grammar. It is important you take notes and review the material covered in class to better prepare for tests and quizzes.
*Class Activities: Make sure you come prepared to class and ready to be an active learner as we discover the beauty and the importance of Spanish culture and language. You are expected to participate in any group activity, skit, etc. that takes place in class. This also includes assignments that will be collected or checked as a sign of your participation in class.
*Homework: Please check Schoolwires for homework assignments. All homework must be neat, fully completed and handed in on time. No late work will be accepted unless there is a valid excuse such an illness.
*Attendance: Your attendance is mandatory. If you are absent, you are responsible to make-up any class/ homework assignments, tests, projects and quizzes missed.
-Homework assignments willbehandedin by the student the next day after his/her return.
-If a student is absent the day of the test/ quiz and was present in class the day before, that student will take the test/ quiz the day they return to class.
-If a student was absent several days see me to select a date for makeup work. If it is not made up within one week, it will count as a zero.
*Classroom Rules:

Be respectful and considerate of EVERYONE around you.
Think before you speak and act.
No cell phones. If seen with a cell phone, it will be taken away.
You may only bring water in a plastic bottle.
No gum chewing is allowed in the class.
*Academic Dishonesty- There is no tolerance for cheating. Work that is completed by a translator will automatically receive a zero. Please refer to page 35 in the Student/ Parent Handbook for the school policy on this matter.
