PTO Meeting Notes – February 10th,2015
- President Kim Plebani welcomed everyone to the meeting and asked that they sign the attendance sheet and list their child’s teacher. The classroom with the most attendance this meeting was Mrs. Curtin and they will be awarded with a special snack by the PTO.
- An agenda was handed out to everyone – topics discussed:
- 4th Grade Pretzel Sale – the4th grade is selling pretzels weekly through April to fund their trip to the Trenton Thunder game with the 5th graders. Order slips and money is due on Thursdays and pretzels are delivered on Fridays. Helpers are needed for both Thursdays and Fridays. This week pretzels will be heart shaped!
- Chick-Fil-A Cookie Grams – These will be sent home this Friday, February 13th.
- Box Tops – Great turn-out so far. Keep them coming in! Please be sure you are not sending in expired Box Tops as we will not be paid for those. A $.50 gift certificate is given to each student that brings in a full page of 25 Box Tops. Sheets are periodically sent home or you can find them on the website. We have a March 1st cutoff to submit BOX TOPS so please send any you may have by 2/20.
- School Store – the next school store is Friday, February 20th. They are held every other Friday and the Box Top gift certificates are handed out the week of the school store. We need helpers!!
- Market Day – Our next Market Day Pick up is Monday, March 2ndfrom 4-5 in the school gym. In January, we earned $83.54. Our order cutoff for February is February 23rd and the pick-up will be Monday, March 2nd, 2015.
- BINGO – March 6that Poquessing. Doors open at 6:30 and first game starts at 7:00. The cost is $5.00 per person and includes BINGO games, popcorn, pretzel, a soda or water. There will be a DJ and lots of prizes!!!!!!
- Roller Skating - Palace roller skating this Sunday, February 15th from 5:30-7:30
- Coffee with the Principal – Open QA and presentation at 9:30 on Friday, February 27th. Please RSVP to Kim Whitlock in the office if you are able to attend.
- Book Fair – The Book Fair will run from Friday, February 27th through Thursday, March 5th. Games are planned for the children and the theme is Under the Sea. Volunteers are needed!!!
- Chick-Fil-A Night – Tuesday, March 3rd. There will be a lemon squeezing contest between Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Belser and a milkshake drinking contest between Mr. Nesbitt and ?????
- Puttin’ On The Hits –scheduled for March 20th at Poquessing at 7pm. Acts are booked and the schedule is being put together. Participants should arrive at 6:30 to start promptly at 7. There is a 3 minute limit per group. No food or drink allowed in the Poquessing auditorium.
- Art Show - scheduled for May 12th 6:00-8:00pm Please come out to see your children’s beautiful artwork displays!
- Science Fair –Scheduled for May 12th with the Art Show. The Girl Scouts will help with the set-up. This is not a competition-this is a ‘just for fun’ Science Fair. There will be more information to follow. Mad Science will participate and help the children with their hypothesis. Mad Science will also do a demo the night of the fair and children that do participate will be given a goodie bag from Mad Science.
- PTO Meeting in May will be moved to 8:00pm due to the Art Show and Science Fair.

- Mrs. Burkholder also noted the following:
- Kindergarten registration is on Friday, March 6th.
- Mrs. Holland from Poquessing visited the 4th graders and it went well. The children had some great questions (swimming, homework, recess, etc.) and Mrs. Holland also had some information for the students as well (grades, children get to visit in May, lockers, etc.). There will be more information to come in May.
- At the end of the meeting, Kim Plebani and Mrs. Burkholder thanked everyone for coming. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 7:00 in the school library.
