What is Tag Day?
All band and orchestra members raise money by collecting contributions door-to-door in neighborhoods within the West Springfield High School boundaries. Student teams go door-to-door asking for tax-deductible donations and turn in money collected.
Who Should Participate?
All West Springfield High School band (Concert, Symphonic and Wind Symphony) and all orchestra members. This is a STRONGLY ENCOURAGED event for any student affiliated with these programs!!! THE SUCCESS OF THIS EVENT IS DEPENDENT ON A HIGH LEVEL OF PARTICIPATION FROM ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS!! Band student participation in Tag Day is a key component to earning a Varsity letter.
Orchestra members are able to use these hours for service points for any honor club.
Why Do We Need a Tag Day?
Thousands of dollars are needed each year to run a complete music program. With the school system's budget cuts, donations from family, friends, and neighbors are needed to support all of the music department programs. This provides additional money that isn’t provided by FCPS and WSHS.
When is Tag Day?
Saturday, September 17, 2015, 8:00 AM until mid-afternoon (finish time dictated by number of students and drivers participating in the event).
Where Do We Meet?
West Springfield High School Sports Lobby/Auditorium.
