Describe your previous and current philanthropy and/or community service experiences:
The Promises to Keep initiative is a unique partnership that leverages the gift of a donor to benefit current students. Here is the twist – future students will be depending on your partnership to keep the award going. Your future support is critical to the success of this initiative.
A key goal of the “Winter Family Promises to Keep” Award is for Allen College to receive a gift from 100 percent of the award recipients. This award reflects two promises:
· The promise that the college will support the worthy recipient in order for the recipient to meet her or his educational goals to positively change the lives of others, and
· The promise that the award recipient, as the result of having benefited from the award, will contribute back the amount of the award and become a lifelong donor to Allen College.
Allen College is asking you to:
1. Make the most of your Allen experience – get involved.
2. Consider the importance of offering your time, talent and resources to benefit future Allen students.
3. Do everything possible to meet the requirements associated with your award, including making annual gifts.
Giving Back
Recipients of the Winter Family Promises to Keep Award are asked to pay back the amount of the award over several years, not to exceed 15 years. A suggested payment schedule will be provided to each award recipient. Recipients of the Award understand that they have no legal obligation to repay this award but rather an expectation, articulated at the time the award is made, that they will make every effort to return the amount of their award to the College in order to replenish the Award fund which will support future Allen College student recipients of this Award.
With your help, the donor’s original gift is perpetuated by every student who receives one and the cycle continues.
I understand the philosophy behind the award.
