3rd Annual NCPA Student Business Plan Poster Session

BACKGROUND
NCPA continues to see an increase in exceptional business plans with each succeeding year of the Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Competition. For the third consecutive year, NCPA would like to recognize the time and effort invested to develop each and every business plan by providing all business plan teams with an opportunity to showcase their work.
Show off your hard work while engaging in a medium for exchanging novel business models. The Business Plan Poster Session is designed to:
§ Create opportunities for business plan participants to obtain additional sources of feedback;
§ Create opportunities for community pharmacists and NCPA members to contribute their expertise and experiences;
§ Promote innovative thinking to advance services and practices of community pharmacy.
GUIDELINES
§ Participants must submit an application form and abstract by Friday, September 20, 2013.
§ All participants in the poster session are required to register for the NCPA Annual Convention in Orlando, FL. Participants are responsible for all expenses to the NCPA Annual Meeting including registration, travel, and accommodations.
§ Only one poster will be accepted per school or college of pharmacy.
§ Only those schools or colleges who submitted a business plan for the 2013 Business Plan Competition will be considered.
§ Posters will be presented on Sunday October 13 from 1:30pm – 6:00pm in the Exhibit Hall. (Students do not need to stand by poster at all times, but must set up and tear down at designated times listed above)
§ Posters should be no larger than 4ft x 8ft.
§ Include title, author names, and school or college in the poster.
TIPS ON CREATING A POSTER: Keep it simple, but sufficient.
§ Poster should be easy to follow. Generally, it is read sequentially from left to right, and top to bottom (see Figure 1).

§ Use graphics to tell your story and use the white spaces to create good visual balance between the text and figures (See Figure 2). Text should be readable from at least 3 ft away.

§ Keep in mind the major components of your business plan that you may choose to present: Loan Request Summary, Mission Statement and Vision, Description of Business, Marketing Plan, Physical Description, and Financials.
§ Ask your Business Plan Competition Advisor or NCPA Chapter Advisor for assistance and information on a specific poster template for your school or college of pharmacy.
DEADLINE
To be eligible for consideration, an application and abstract must be submitted by Friday, September 20, 2013.
Submissions will be peer reviewed by a selection committee for quality and topic applicability. Participants will be notified of their abstract status no later than September 27, 2013. A current email address of the primary contact must be provided in the application.
If your abstract is selected for consideration and presentation during the NCPA Annual Convention in Orlando, FL the presenter(s) must be current NCPA student members in good standing and must be registered for the NCPA Annual Convention.
