JOB DESCRIPTION

Job aim / Administrative support across the work of our science education activities

Responsibilities (ideally a maximum of 8 key responsibilities)
Including but not limited to:
1. General Administration
§  Support the Director, Programme Head and Programme Manager of our Science Education Team on all aspects of our science education programmes and activities, including Nuffield Research Placements
§  Respond to external queries from students, teachers and other stakeholders
§  Set up all arrangements (e.g. invitation lists, catering and audio-visual equipment) for meetings, seminars and conferences both on and off-site
§  Organise mail-shots and couriers
§  Carry out personal assistant duties such as updating appointments on Outlook Calendars, dealing with post and making travel arrangements
§  Draft letters and contracts, setting documents into designs and templates
2. Administration for science education programmes and activities
§  Carry out a range of tasks relevant to science education, including those using IT systems such as maintaining and updating databases, working with online application software and Excel, developing online surveys, use of the Intranet and Extranet
§  Sourcing and updating large databases on UK schools as necessary
§  Manipulate and report on data as needed, for example producing graphs and summaries of annual trends
3. Updating the websites & literature
§  Work within the Foundation’s content management system to support the maintenance and updating of content relating to our science projects
§  Support the updating of printed materials, banners etc. to include writing copy, sourcing images or proof-reading.
4. Supporting other education work
§  Supporting other education work funded or led by the Foundation, including in mathematics education.
5. Other
