Red knot 2LLYB

This Red Knot known since banding by the rather unromantic name of 2LLYB was banded at ‘Richard’s Point’ one of the sites on the eastern beaches of the northern shores of Roebuck Bay.

This male was aged 2 (in its second year of life) at banding. This bird has a resighting history of 37 records with many of those coming from 4 years of resighting work at Bohai Bay northern China (see elsewhere on the GFN site for further information) where this bird has been recorded for each of those 4 years. It is fantastic data to be able to follow these birds at a site some 6,400km from their capture and initial marking site.

I have edited the summary of sightings below to show the life history described above. It is still a long set of sightings to show first and last sightings from both Roebuck Bay and Bohai Bay and the last sighting to date.
