Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

These FAQs provide an overview of the Personal Money Plan’s (PMP) functionality and act as a general user’s guide to the PMP form.

1. What is the Personal Money Plan for?

A PMP may be required by the Customer Assist Team to best support you if you’re experiencing financial difficulty.

2. Do I need any additional software to open the form on my computer?

You may need to download Adobe Reader (free software) to use the Filters and Calculations within the PMP.

3. How long will it take to fill out the form?

It usually takes five to 10 minutes to complete the form. Times will vary depending on the number of applicants and availability of information.

4. What do I need to complete the form?

You may need a calculator, pay slips and other financial information, as listed in the form’s hover prompts. (Hover prompts appear in the form when you ‘hover' your curser over the cells to display the field descriptions. They are also listed in the FAQ Appendix.)

5. What account number do I enter if I have more than one account?

In Section 1, enter the account number for the main loan account for which you are requesting assistance. If you are looking for help with more than one loan account, list all the account numbers applicable in Section 3.

6. What are the frequencies (Freq) shown in the form?

These describe how regularly your income or expense payments are received or made. You should enter these amounts by their actual frequency.

For example, if you are paid weekly, select ‘W’. If you are paid fortnightly, select ‘F’.

The frequency options are:

·  W = Weekly

·  F = Fortnightly

·  M = Monthly

·  Q = Quarterly

·  A = Annually

7. What happens if I pay my fuel expenses weekly and my vehicle rego yearly?

1.  Break down your yearly rego expense into weekly amounts by dividing the total by 52 (e.g., $1,040 ÷ 52 = $20)

2.  Add this to the total weekly transport expense

3.  Convert monthly servicing expenses into weekly amounts by dividing by 4 (e.g., $40 ÷ 4 = $10)

4.  Add this amount into the total weekly transport expenses

So if your rego costs $1,040 a year, car servicing costs $40 per month and fuel costs $50 per week, your total transport expense to enter is $80 per week ($20 + $10 + $50).

Alternatively, you could convert all your transport expenses to monthly amounts before entering, but make sure you change the Freq filter to M.

8. What happens if I click on the Email button on the form?

An important message will appear. Read it and select ‘ok’ if you are comfortable using the email facility. An email will be generated and your completed form will be attached to it. When you click ‘Send’, the email will be sent directly to our Customer Assist Team.

9. How can I get help if I have any other questions?

NOTE: Utilities – Home Expenses must be converted to the same frequency before entering the amount. (See FAQ 7 for information on how to convert amounts.)
