Key Club Member Requirements/Lettering Policy
Member Requirements
Have at least, if not more than, the required number of hours completed and turned in by each Hour Deadline:
1st and 2nd Hours Deadline: 9 total service hours, minimum of 5 Key Club hours and minimum of 4 non Key Club hours
Last Hours Deadline: 12 total hours, minimum of 7 Key Club hours and minimum of 5 non Key Club hours
Sign up for and attend a minimum of 2 events before each Hours Deadline
Let a Board Member know when you cannot make it to an event you signed up for and find a replacement
Adhere to the 3 Strike Policy. After receiving 3 strikes, your membership will be revoked.
Ways to earn a strike:
- Failing to find a replacement for an event you cannot attend
- Failing to meet the required number of hours for a certain deadline
- Continuously missing meetings without alerting a board member as to why
- Poor meeting/club conduct
Participate in 2 ‘main projects’ in addition to regular events. Main Projects include Fall Rally, Halloween Food Drive, Trick of Treat for UNICEF, Tutoring, Blood Drive, JDRF Walk for Diabetes, Spring Convention, Key Club Governor’s Project, Parent’s Night Out, Board Washing, and Feed My Starving Children

Key Club Lettering Policy
Who is eligible to letter in Key Club? Key Club is a service organization of High School students, which operates under school regulations and draws its members from the student body. The students who are actively involved in our Key Club are eligible to letter.
Lettering Requirements
There are 8 standards a Key Club member must meet in order to receive a letter in Key Club:
Their application for Key Club must have been completed and accepted on time
Membership dues must have been paid by the set deadline
The student must have at least 80% meeting attendance
The Key Club member must have actively participated in one or more Committees in the Club
The Key Club member must attend at least three of the main projects (see Member Requirements)
The Key Club member must complete 50 total hours of service with a minimum of 25 Key Club hours
The Key Club member is responsible for the events he/she signed up for!
The Key Club member is required to attend the Awards Ceremony
Time Standards
The lettering policy will go into effect after the first Key Club meeting in the fall. Hours will be counted during the Key Club year. Hours need to be turned in at the end of each Hour Deadline. Candidates for lettering will be considered according to the above requirements. Letters will be awarded to those who meet the requirements at the Awards Ceremony in May.
