Mean, Median, Mode, and Range Study Guide

Mean: the average of a set of numbers, found by adding the numbers in the set and then dividing by the amount of numbers in the set.

Range: The difference between the greatest number (called the maximum) and the least number (called the minimum) in a set of data. Subtract the greatest and the least to find the range.

Mode: The number that occurs most often in a set of data.

Median: The middle number in a set when the numbers are ordered from least to greatest. If there are 2 numbers in the middle, then find the mean of those 2 numbers.
