A training on sexual assault investigations

Monday & Tuesday

August 25th & 26th, 2014,

The Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force, Nampa Family Justice Center, and the Idaho Coalition against Sexual and Domestic Violence are pleased to present this free training for law enforcement on non-stranger sexual assault response and sex offender interviewing and interrogation.

Day 1: Monday, August 25th

Non-Stranger Sexual Assault Response & Investigation

The Non-Stranger Sexual Assault Response & Investigation training provides basic and intermediate information on sexual assault dynamics, law enforcement response, preliminary investigation, victim interviewing and evidence collection and use. This training develops officers’ core skills and knowledge related to sexual assault response and investigation.

Day 2: Tuesday, August 26th

Identifying Sex Offenders: Tools for Interview & Interrogation

Identifying Sex Offenders: Tools for Interview and Interrogation provides law enforcement with current research on sex offender typologies within the context of identifying the most effective strategies for interviewing and investigation. This training is ideal for law enforcement officers who have experience investigating sexual assault.

Training Location

The training will be held at the Nampa Civic Center. The Civic Center is located at 311 3rd Street South, in Nampa.

Cost

The training registration is free. Limited scholarships will be available to pay for travel and lodging. The first law enforcement agency to apply from each judicial region will receive free lodging for their attendees and mileage for one vehicle traveling to the training site. Lodging is provided with double occupancy unless separate rooms are required for accessibility. Lodging will only be provided for agencies outside a 60 mile radius of Nampa, ID. Additional law enforcement applicants from each region will be offered free lodging on an as-available basis.

Meals

Meals will be on your own. We will provide an hour for lunch and a list of restaurants in the area. Morning coffee and afternoon snacks will be provided by the Nampa Family Justice Center, free of charge.

Lodging Information

Please contact Jennifer Perry regarding room reservations- DO NOT contact the hotel directly. Rooms will be double occupancy for individuals of the same gender coming from the same region. If separate rooms are required for accessibility, please note this on your application.
