A: OVERALL PURPOSE

To organise and co-ordinate My Guide schemes with local partners, including the recruitment and management of up to 15 volunteers initially
To take referrals, and match them to volunteers, supporting both the client and volunteer
To oversee and monitor the client/volunteer relationship and work with the volunteer and client to develop an exit strategy via the training of family/friends and the community
To provide a proactive customer service for potential clients, volunteers and the general public who are seeking information or interested in the My Guide scheme
To review and monitor the scheme, feeding back to the Sighted Guide team

  • Organise training sessions for the volunteers and the community including booking rooms and refreshments
  • Book appointments between clients and volunteers
  • Carry out generaladministrative duties such as dealing with the post, phones and correspondence in a timely fashion

  • Recruitment of volunteers, volunteer management and support
  • Upkeep of local records for the My Guide national database

  • Responsible for maintainingthe monitoring spreadsheet, including completing quarterly reports
  • Reporting on the project’s budget ensuring ensuing appropriate financial procedures are followed and continually drive efficiency in budget spend
  • Raising of Expenditure Requisitions and liaise with supplier agencies as required. Follow-up invoices and payments when appropriate
  • Support the Sighted Guide Ambassador in developing and inputting annual budgets
  • Check monthly spend against trial balances and query / resolve any discrepancies
