Packing List – What to Bring
• Clothes: Weather in early May can vary greatly, but typically can be hot and humid – check weather on line before you pack your clothing – Please refer to Dress Code as you pack.
• shorts or pants (none with holes, tears or graffiti, regardless of location)
• shirts
• Undergarments
• good walking shoes & socks
• Bug repellant
• jacket (optional, but may be needed in the evening on the river)
• sunglasses (optional)
• hat (optional)
• Dress outfits for two evenings (Thursday and Saturday)
• Gentlemen: slacks; collared shirt (golf or button up), belt (as shirt will be tucked in), shoes (not tennis or flip flops)
• Ladies: skirt, top or dress, (sundresses are permitted) shoes (not tennis or flip flops).
• Money for spending
• School utensils (pens, pencils, crayons, glue, tape)
• Ziploc Freezer bag for collection of artifacts (XL)
• Savannah scrapbook, wrist band & track bag – will pick up at check-in on Thursday morning
• Toiletries
• Deodorant
• Toothbrush & Toothpaste
• Shampoo
• Sunscreen
• Beach towel or straw mat for picnic lunches (optional)
• If you plan to shower more than once a day – you may want to pack an extra towel.
• bug repellent (Bounce dryer sheets tucked into your pockets or hidden in your hat, make great bug repellent).
• what ever else you need to make yourself beautiful
• Water bottles – packing water is not optional. All students should bring at least a 12 pack of bottled water to ensure that they stay hydrated. They will be responsible for carrying water with them in their track bag each day to ensure they stay hydrated.
• Snacks – students may bring snacks for their room or to carry with them to nibble on during the day. Rooms have microwave ovens.
• Camera (or camera phone) – optional, however kids may want pictures for scrapbook.
• Cell phone (will be silenced during all tours – may be used for pictures, but should not be used for calls or texting during tours). Ringer should be turned off when using for pictures.
• Other electronic devices (remember that neither the school nor the teachers are responsible for lost or damaged items).
• i-Pad or i-Pod
• Laptop (there is wi-fi at the hotel)
• Rain gear (optional)
Luggage
• Suitcase (recommend large)
• Case of bottled water (write name on case with sharpee)
• Carry on bag is allowed (track bag doesn’t count)
• You are responsible for your luggage, again you are responsible for your luggage
• At check-in complete luggage tag, reflects room
Check-in 5/10 – 5:00 AM at assigned bus; depart Lovinggood at 6:00 AM (busses will arrive by 5:30 AM or earlier)
Arrive at Lovinggood 5/13 – 1:30 PM est. arrival time; students will call if on time, early or late
