Chief Instructor, Health Science EMT-P
Location:Saudi Arabia
Oversees design, development, planning, preparation, execution and assessment of trauma and emergency medical services related courseware and approved Program of Instruction (POI) related activities pertaining to the Health Science curriculum at the Allied Health Sciences Military School (AHSMS). Trains, coaches, and assists Allied Health Sciences Military School staff and faculty in emergency treatment procedures using Army Medical Department (AMEDD) doctrine and current US Department of Transportation/National Traffic Safety Board standards for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, certification and continuing education as the basis for training related Curriculum Development Section Activities. Supervises and directs assigned personnel in the development, implementation, assessment and revision of course material for use in EMT training and related subject matter incorporated into Ministry of the National Guard (MNG) Programs of Instruction. Assist in directing a staff of four curriculum developers. Trains, coaches, and assists the AHSMS Training Officer, Education Wing, Training and Examination Evaluation Section and other selected members of the AHSMS staff in curriculum design, development and evaluation. Serves as subject matter expert for the execution design, development, and preparation of new emergency medical skill instructional material related to trauma treatment and emergency technician skills programs for Education Wing, Training and Examination Evaluation Section and other selected members Allied Health Sciences Military School (AHSMS) and curriculum development section. Education Level: Associate of Applied Sciences or higher-level education program for Emergency Medical Technicians (Paramedic). A combination of five (5) years technical training and experience is acceptable in lieu of formal education requirement. Current US State or National Registry certification in accordance with US Department of Transportation National Traffic Safety Board standards as EMT-P (Paramedic). Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pre-hospital Life Support (PHTLS) or its equivalent are required; instructor certifications preferred. Certifications for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), and Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professional (PEPP) or equivalent must be obtained within first 6 months of employment and maintained throughout employment. Experience: Five (5) years military or civilian experience in the EMS field. At least two (2) years of experience as an emergency medical services instructor or trainer (civilian or military) to include assessment of clinical skills. A certified formal instructor course or its military equivalent. Specific knowledge, skill, ability, requirements: Working knowledge of emergency medical services doctrine, training, and educational methods. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Computer literacy in MS Word-based programs is required. Must possess valid driver’s license.
