Re: January 2015 Exam Schedule for EOC, and NC Final Exam Tested Courses

Attached you will find the fall exam schedule for the SCORECenter. Please make sure you child gets plenty of rest the night before the test and a good breakfast the morning of the test.

Below is pertinent information for the days of exams:

DAILY SCHEDULE

After testing is completed, students who choose to leave will follow the normal school procedures for checking out early. If the student drives, the student must present a note from the parent, with a phone number for the office to call and confirm. Each day a new note must be presented. Students who do not drive may be picked up after ALL testing has been completed for the day. (Students will not be called out from class for any reason until testing is complete).

Students should not visit any other Rockingham County Schools’ Campus during any exam days. Students who are found on other campuses may be charged with trespassing (Board Policy 4302).

EXAM EXEMPTIONS

Exam exemptions are limited due to required state testing measures; no EOC, NC Final Exam or CTE test may be exempted. Students who do not attend school during exam days will be counted as absent.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

If school is cancelled, testing will continue (or begin) on the next full day of school. Also, if there is a delayed opening (1 or 2 hour delay) students should report to school because testing will OCCUR as scheduled. If a student misses school he/she will be counted as absent.

NC FINAL EXAMS

Students in the selected courses are required by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to take a state-developed final exam. These exams are administered on the same days as the End-of-Course Testing.

NCFE Courses: Earth Science, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Science, English I, English III, English IV, US History, World History, Civics, Math II, Math III, Pre-Calculus, Advanced Functions

EOC Courses: Math I, English II, Biology

Counting EOC and NC Final Exams scores as part of the Final Grade

As in previous years, the EOC test raw scores will be converted to a 100 point score and this 100 point score will be averaged in as 25% of the student’s final course grade. Grades for Math I and Biology will be available soon after the testing is completed. However, because the English II and some NCFE tests requires scoring of the written response, grades for students who are in English II and select NCFE (English III, Civics & Economics, World History, and American History I) courses will be delayed by up to two weeks. If the scores are not quickly available, English II students will receive an Incomplete (I) on their report cards.
