Welcome to the web and email services of Destination Shelburne… ( the preeminent web address for travelers to the Shelburne area. The web has been online since 2001 and consistently ranks #1 and/or #2 and/or #3 for web searches for the area on Google and Yahoo. Its sister site, Best of Nova Scotia consistently ranks high for searches for “Nova Scotia Vacation” and another affiliated site, is a growing regional news service.
The sites generate 90,000 visits per year, many of them from targeted customers (45% from Canada, 38% from U.S.A) seeking tourism information for Nova Scotia and the Shelburne Area.The DESTINATION Shelburne site alone receives 40,000 + per year!
The site currently delivers from 40% to 85% of the total web visit volume for several B&Bs, cottages and motels in the Shelburne area and we estimate that 30-50% of all accommodation web visits in Shelburne County derive from ShelburneNovaScotia.com (Destination Shelburne).
Standard listings will remain free upon request, but beginning July 1, 2006, those customers seeking concentrated web traffic from our sites will be paying a small fee for targeted traffic from potential customers.Current listing subscribers report site visits from the listings of 100-300 visits per month. For a premium listing, this amounts to as little as $.02 per visit – 10-20% of the cost of commercial “pay-per-click” services.
Most accommodations would need only one or two reservations in a year to pay for the service and restaurants and other businesses would also benefit greatly.
Until July 15, 2006, DSCTA members will receive introductory rates plus 20% discount on all paid-for services, after which time standard pricing goies into effect.
