Non NHS Services
The Surgery offers several non NHS services such as private medical certificates, medical reports, HGV and PSV medicals, ratification of BUPA claims, holiday cancellation, passport application authorisation, seat belt exemption etc. Please enquire at reception for the fees regarding these services.
Well Baby Clinic
Clinics are now held at Normanton Health Centre. Please contact the clinic direct on 01924 228743 for details of clinic times.
Please note this clinic is not for ill babies, if your baby is ill then please make an appointment with the GP during normal surgery hours.

Consultations are available on site through referral by the Doctor.

Repeat Prescriptions
If you are on continuous or regularly prescribed medication a ‘repeat request slip’ will be attached to your prescription. This slip should be completed for each new repeat request to ensure that the correct medication is prescribed. Routine repeat prescriptions will be ready for collection 48 hours after you make the request. Any amendments may take longer.
Requests can be made in a number of ways:
- In person - hand your slip in at reception.
- By post-send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want it posted back to you.
- By fax - please send to 01924 896546
- Online - Please ask the Receptionist for a sign-up form.
We are sorry butwe are unable to take requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone
Electronic Prescription Service
If you use the same pharmacy all the time, near home or work, you may be interested in using our Electronic Prescription Service. You will still need to order your prescription in the usual way but, rather than picking it up in person from the surgery, it can now be sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy. If you would like more information please ask amember of the Practice team or discuss it with your pharmacy.
Investigation Results
You can telephone after 1.00 pm for the results of x-rays, blood tests etc. However, please note that, due to confidentiality rules, results can only be given over the telephone to the actual patient concerned, or to the parent/guardian of patients under the age of 16.

Dr Arunaprasad is the named accountable GP for all our patients.
New Patients
We are pleased to welcome new patients who live in the catchment area. To register with us please complete a registration form for each person at reception.
We invite all new patients to make an appointment with the health care assistant(HCA) on registration. At this appointment the HCA will check your blood pressure and urine. You will also be asked about your medical history and medication, and you will be offered advice relating to your general health.
Appointment Times
The surgery phone lines are open Monday-Friday 08:00-18:30 (excluding Bank Holidays).
We are closed for training purposes ten Wednesday afternoons per year. We advertise these dates in surgery and on our website.
If you wish to make an appointment please call 01924 890729 or call in at the surgery. Alternatively you may wish to sign up for our online booking service SystmOnline. Please ask at reception for details.

Appointments times may vary when Dr Arunaprasad is not in surgery.
The Surgery runs a 10 minute appointment system and each appointment is for one person and one condition only. We will do our best to give you an appointment to see the GP or Practice Nurse within 48 hours. We are a single-handed GP practice so appointments are precious. Please inform us as soon as possible if you wish tocancel your appointment so that we can offer it to someone else. Patients repeatedly missing booked appointments may be removed from the practice list.
Home Visits
Home visits are mainly for the elderly, disabled or housebound. Please make every effort to attend surgery. If you are too ill to attend and need a home visit then please telephone the surgery before 10.00 am. State clearly the name, address and telephone number of the patient and describe the symptoms.
Out Of Hours Cover
The surgery phone line is closed between 6.30pm and 8am each weekday, at the weekend and during bank holidays.
If you need medical help fast during these times (but it's not a 999 emergency) please call 111.
111 will connect you to a team of fully trained call advisers who are supported by experienced nurses. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms and either give you the healthcare advice you need or will direct you to the most appropriate service. If they think you need an ambulance they willarrange one for you.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Stroke, chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Telephoning the Surgery
You may telephone the surgery to speak to the doctor or practice nurse during opening hours. If the person you wish to speak to is not available the receptionist will take a message and ask the clinician to contact you when they are free.
If the receptionist thinks that your call is urgent you will be placed on hold until the receptionist can consult the clinician and you will receive a response as soon as possible.
Disabled Access
The surgery has dedicated parking bays, a ramp for wheelchair access and toilet facilities adapted for use by the disabled.
Please telephone the surgery prior to your arrival if you are coming alone and need assistance.
Minor Operations
Minor operations such as cyst, mole and wart removal can be performed in the practice. If you would like to discuss this please make an appointment with Dr Arunaprasad.
Ante-Natal Clinic
Clinics are held alternate Thursday afternoons from 1.30 pm with the midwife attached to our Practice. If you have any problems please contact the GP or your allocated midwife.
