Rooms 10 &11 Homework for Week 1 Term 2 2015
Notes:
**Hats are NOT compulsory in Terms 3 and 4, however children playing on any grass surface DO NEED play clothes in Terms 3 and 4.
**Every Friday starting next week all Team 3 and 4 children need a change of clothes and sandshoes for Sports practise in readiness for the Winter Sports on 19 June. Netball, Rugby League, Soccer, Hockey are the sports.
**This Thursday 23rd at 9-15 Team 3 are holding an Anzac Service on the back field wet or fine. All family are most welcome to attend and to come into room 10, 11, 14 and 15 classrooms to view the WW1 work done.
**Term 2 Features include Speech Finals, Winter Sports, School Reports, Parent Interviews.
Homework
1. Draw or glue an image of something from WW1 that interests you.
2. Kitchen: Write an explanation with details of how you either helped your family in the kitchen one night this week or, what you helped to cook.
3. Current Events: Prince Harry is coming to NZ on May 9 this year.
- Who are his parents?
- What is his brother’s name?
- When he is in the Army what name is he called by?
- He has met Maria and Marty Tapp’s Great Grandad. Ask Marty or Maria Why? And Where?
- If you could meet Prince Harry what is one question you would like to ask him?
4. Anzac Day: 1. Research why the poppy is a symbol of Anzac Day.
- Draw a poppy with correct colours.
5. Map Labels: Correctly and tidily label the cities and Islands of New Zealand. Carefully colour inside New Zealand green(this shows land). Carefully colour / go over the outside line blue (this shows water). Do Not go
over place names/label lines with blue. Thanks. Look at an atlas.
