Modifying a worksheet
Selecting Cells
To select a cell you may click on the cell directly. The SHIFT+ARROW keys together help you to select continuous range of cells while action, CONTROL+mouse CLICK, helps you to select discontinuous cells/ranges of cells. The table below shows how the mouse can help to select cells.
Cells to select /Mouse action
One cell / click once in the cellEntire row / click the row label
Entire column / click the column label
Entire worksheet / click the whole sheet button
Cluster of cells / drag mouse over the cells or hold down the SHIFT key while using the arrow keys
Moving Through Cells
You may use the arrow key to move to the next cell on a worksheet. Below shows some key stroke which help you to move from one cell to other further locations.

One cell left / left arrow key
One cell right / right arrow key or TAB
Top of the worksheet (cell A1) / CTRL+HOME
End of the worksheet (last cell containing data) / CTRL+END

End of the column / CTRL+down arrow key
Any cell / File|Go To menu bar command

Resizing Rows and Columns
Method 1:For rows, drag the line below the label of the row you would like to resize; for columns, drag the line to the right of the label of the column you would like to resize
Method 2:For row, FormatRowHeightEnter a numerical value; for column, FormatColumnWidth Enter a numerical value
Freeze Panes
If your worksheet is too large so that all contents cannot be shown on the screen and you want to refer to the headings while browsing the data, you can use the Freeze Panes feature.
1.Click on the label of the row (e.g. row 2) for applying “Freeze Panes”
2.WindowFreeze Panes
Row 1 remain stationary while other rows can be moved upward and downward
3.To remove the frozen panes:WindowUnfreeze Panes
