Job Purpose/Summary
Working within the Database Service Business as Usual (BAU) function, the Data Selections team manage a demanding work programme delivering the data and reporting requirements of Fundraising and other colleagues across the charity.
The Data Selections Analyst role is a key member of this team who, with an understanding of data selections processes, ensures the delivery of data to support the integrated, multi-channel marketing approach to Supporters.
The role involves understanding, clarifying and assisting stakeholders in developing selection briefs, before then delivering these through coding, testing and quality control.
Accountabilities (Duties & Responsibilities)
- To investigate selection requests and develop and deliver to these in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support stakeholders in improving selection requests, providing technical advice or guidance and enhancing selection requests as a result to improve delivery to business teams.
- To ensure that selections are developed in a manner that complements strategic use of supporter and other data as directed by the Senior Data Selections Analyst.
- To maintain proper documentation, work to and support improvement of practicewithin the team, ensuring understanding across the Data Analyst team.
- To ensure that data is processed in such a way as to be compliant with: Data protection, Telephone Preference Services, Mailing Preference Services & HMRC and other legislative/best practice requirements
- To provide regular updates to stakeholders, including counts, reports and analysis findings to facilitate decision making within business teams.
- To work closely with Data Analyst and System Analyst colleagues to support cross-team projects and the timely delivery of reports and selections as components of these.
- To be responsible for all data integrity and quality checks related to data marketing selections, ensuring that new selections are checked and tested appropriately before delivery.
- To manage volunteers and interns to help deliver the challenging Business as Usual work programme.
- To manage the ongoing development of technical solutions in respect of data selections.
- To represent the Senior Data Selections Analyst in his/her absence as and when required.
- To participate actively where required in any Database Service projects.

IRISCARE, Direct Marketing Agencies, fulfilment and mailing houses, CARE user group, Wood for Trees and other analysis agencies, HMRC.
