Consideration for Transfer into the Virginia Conference(2016 Book of Discipline, ¶347)

I am serving in at least my second year under appointment in the Virginia Conference and wish to be received into membership within the Virginia Conference.

After serving as a provisional member for at least two years and completing all the requirements established by the Discipline and the annual conference, I may apply for full membership and recognition of orders.

This request and biographical information form is the first step. Once the Center for Clergy Excellence has received this form – and your profile photo – you will be invited to register in Pathways, our online file management program. There are a number of additional materials you will be asked to submit, including a copy of a letter from you to your current bishop/denominational official advising them of your intent to transfer to the VAUMC, supervisory evaluations from your S/PPRC and District Superintendent. Depending on your denominational affiliation, you may be asked to submit a psychological assessment, pastor profile, and personal statements of theology and call related to your request for transfer. All materials are outlined in the Pathways online file management system. The deadline for these materials is February 15, 2018. The Transfer Committee reviews these submitted materials in light of the requirements set forth in the 2016 Book of Discipline, ¶347, conducts an interview with you, and will make a recommendation to the Virginia Conference Board of Ordained Ministry.

The recommendation of the Board of Ordained Ministry is sent to the Bishop and Clergy Session of Annual Conference for final consideration of transfer.
