*Ginger and Keith met at the bank. Past President, Jeff Chrisstiansen, is off the account now. Two signatures are still required for any written checks out of the LYFA account. Any team representative may deposit money into team accounts.
JMFA Report:
$79,425.24 current balance.
*Dicks sporting goods bags will be available again. Each area is responsible for getting their bags to coaches.
*JMFA IS Introducing rugby. The rugby season will run Mid may to July, and will serve ages 5 to 13. All registrations and running of the rugby league will be done through South Jeffco at this time until it builds. There are many clinics available for players and coaches. Visit South Jeffco’s website for more details.
*Insurance may go up. JMFA is not sure at this time. If LYFA starts a flag football league, the cost for insurance will be $4.30 per player.
*LYFA is the only area providing equipment in JMFA.
*JMFA will not require player photographs in the coaches’ roster books this year.
* Spring League Play – no JMFA jerseys may be used for spring league play. JMFA will get spring league rosters.
*There were some rule proposals that were tabled until then next meeting.
Equipment Report:
*Two years ago we sent in 228 helmets for reconditioning. This year we sent 283. The helmets are on their way to Texas for reconditioning.
*Need 2nd grade team jerseys ordered by end of March. Tom C. get list of numbers to Mike in the next 2 weeks. *Mike contacted Gamewear about new jersey’s for 2nd grade team. Currently there is a four week lead-time. Eddie Umana will contact us with our new sales representative. Mike has a copy of the order form. Mike has also made contact with All Pro Team Sports, Zack Bryant is our representative. Riddell representatives, Greg Miller and Greg Romine. All have provided jersey pricing quotes.
*Mike S. proposing need for shoulder pad holders. Need 3. $299 per.
*A motion was made to purchase 3 shoulder pad holders; the motion was 2nd; a vote was taken and unanimously approved for the new shoulder pad holders. Mike will get them ordered ASAP.
*Need 2nd equipment volunteer. Not a coach. Stephanie Sundberg volunteered to do both positions.
*Kenny volunteered a label maker from his work to label the helmets.
OLD BUSINESS:
*Should LYFA start a Flag Football team? What about fields? Coaches? Insurance $4.30 per player. Cara Scott volunteered to run the flag football program. Would integrate with Green Mtn and South Jeffco. Could be 1st graders and kindergarteners. LYFA would have to provide referees for the games at our fields. Fees would be between $80 and $100. Provide t-shirts.
*Motion was made to start an LYFA 1st grade flag football team, and 2nd and approved by a unanimous vote.
New Business:
*Dr. Carrie Sands from Point Athletic Club presented sports physical options. She is a Chiropractor. Walk in sports physicals are provided on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month or by appointment. Dr. Sands can also do physicals by team. If this option is chosen it would be a flat $500 per team. Individual physicals are $35 per player. Dr. Sands is a Performance for Life Doctor not just a medical doctor. Her physicals include a medical examination, a performance evaluation and foot gate examination.
*Becky Dumuro, also from the Point Athletic Club, is a Personal Trainer offering performance training. Free guest passes were left with Keith for anyone who is interested.
*2011 payment options will be On-line payments, cash, or money orders only. LYFA will no longer accept checks as payment for registration.
*LYFA may propose that each area can only bring one rule proposal per area. Motion was made and 2nd was granted to write up the proposal. Keith H. will write proposal.
