Due to our continued growth, we are seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for all mechanical design and support including but not limited to: 2D/3D CAD drawings of equipment, machinery and products, engineering and manufacturing documentation, and assembly drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
· Designs new products, mechanical components and assemblies with a complete understanding of metal and plastic design concepts and makes improvements to existing products.
· Able to fully leverage Autodesk Inventor software in the various stages of design.
· Work from sketches, notes and other material to produce computer generated documents, drawings, or assemblies
· Develop, document, and catalog the assembly specifications, components, and processes required to transition products from the engineering phase to production
· Participate in new product launch issues including the development of procedures and work instructions, document control and the creation and maintenance of BOMs
· Coordination of document change notices (DCNs) in regards to drawings, and drawing corrections
· Act as a liaison between the engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, sales and purchasing groups
· Provide overall mechanical technical support to the company and engineering department
· Work with management to evaluate cost improvement projects, manufacturing techniques, automation, and outsourcing opportunities, then assist in implementing a solution.
· Supports Engineering personnel/Maintenance in design, build, debug, and installation of tooling, fixtures and machines, including IOQ (Installation/Operation Qualification) and PQ (Process Qualification).
· Train technicians and operators on new equipment, processes and procedures.
· Perform FMEA where required
· Utilize an understanding of current and potential process capabilities (Cpk) and process control limits. Implement statistical process control (SPC) where appropriate. Be actively involved in lean manufacturing and process improvement activities, including design of experiments (DOE), to meet cost, quality and delivery needs.
· Work closely with Process Engineering for equipment development and improvements for new products.

Education & Experience
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field preferred. 5+ years of experience with mechanical designed required.
Skills & Abilities
Must be able to read and interpret documents, drawings, catalogs, data sheets, and vendor quotes. Abie to write routine reports, correspondence and to speak effectively to vendors and employees of the organization. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, proportions, percentages, and volume as well as the ability to apply concepts of advanced algebra and geometry. Must be proficient with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, MS Windows, MS Excel, Outlook, and able to learn ERP software systems. Autodesk Inventor 2013 (3D Modeling) and AutoCad Mechanical 2013 (2D Modeling) preferred. In-depth knowledge of precision machining a plus. Should have strong interpersonal, verbal, written, facilitation, and listening communication skills. Required to have strong project management and task management skills that include the ability to plan, prioritize, organize, gather facts, prepare schedules, document procedures and processes, and exercise sound judgment in decision making
