Sharon K. Greenwood, MS Ed.

High School School Counselor

Raised in Westchester County, New York, Ms. Greenwood received her BA degree in Community Mental Health from SUNY Brockport. She was employed by Hillside Children’s Center in Rochester for 13 years, first as a counselor in the residential treatment program, then as Assistant Director for Quality Assurance. During that time Ms. Greenwood completed her Masters degree in School Counseling at Brockport and in 1990 began working at Honeoye Central School as the K – 12 Home School Coordinator. She has been the high school counselor since 1995. Ms. Greenwood is currently responsible for implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that meets the academic, career, and personal/social needs of all students in grades 9 through 12.

Ms. Greenwood believes that she is truly blessed to have the best job in the world. She is passionate about her work with students and particularly enjoys working with adolescents as they learn about themselves and their place in the world. During her tenure at Honeoye, Ms Greenwood has also coached girls’ basketball at the elementary and Varsity levels, modified softball, and

has been advisor for the Youth-to-Youth and National Honor Society groups and is currently the advisor for LINC Crew. In 2003, Ms Greenwood received her CAS and SDA certification in School Administration.

Ms Greenwood and her husband have one adult daughter, a 1999 Honeoye graduate, living and working in the Rochester area. In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading and outdoor recreation including hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and cycling. This past summer she cycled 400 miles across New York State and is presently working towards summitting the 46 Adirondack high peaks.
