Approximate Opening in September 2012
When complete, (and hoping to be ready by early September), the new site will be open
during Township business hours Monday thru Friday and
the second Saturday of each month, with the continued assistance of Troop 419 on Saturday.
Bins will remain onsite until full. Shown on the bottom of this page is the likely setup
for the improved area and what materials will be accepted.
Only materials described herein and posted on site will be accepted.
Residents will have the freedom to use site at their leisure unless the site is abused.
Penn Township has one of the best reputations at LCRMS
(Lycoming County Resource Management Services) for sending high-quality loads
so let’s keep up the good work. Lighting and security cameras will be used to monitor the site.
Violators will be prosecuted.
Some of the Basic Rules to Recycle by:
Any and all materials must be clean and dry.
Food waste in or on any recycled material is a contaminant and NOT accepted.
Any chemical, oil and antifreeze containers are contaminants and not allowed.
No strings, tape or plastic bags allowed.
All containers used to bring your materials must go home with you.
Lids and Labels…
NO lids on any glass material.
YES to lids on any #1 and #2 plastic bottles or jugs, they are now OK.
YES, lids from tin cans are OK and should be included in the tin bi-metal bin.
Labels are OK on all plastics and tin cans.
Space is always any issue and it doesn’t take much to compact or flatten plastics to save space.
Returning the lid will help keep plastics compacted.
Our new setup will allow for bins to be emptied only when full.
