SCHOOL UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADE 8’s TO 12’s - 2010
PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM 2008, THE P.G.H.S. UNIFORM HAS CHANGED. WE HAVE PHASED OUT THE TRACKSUIT, THE WINTER SHIRT AND TIE THEREFORE THESE MAY NOT BE WORN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOUR DAUGHTER ACQUIRES THE FOLLOWING:
OUR UNIFORM STOCKIST: HIGHWAY SCHOOLWEAR ON OUR SCHOOL PREMISES
BlazerRegulation blue, with school badge (compulsory).
Shirt/BlouseShort sleeves, with blue braiding, with the school badge on the left side, with the school badge embroidered on it. (As sold by Highway Schoolwear).
SkirtRegulation blue tetrex, drip dry. Length – ON the knee.
ShoesPlain black school shoes, lace up or with a bar.
SocksShort white ankle socks.
StockingsThick black or sheer stockings may be worn throughout the year.
JerseyLong sleeve, or sleeveless regulation royal blue ‘V’ neck.
Long Sleeve(No cardigans may be worn).
(N.B. Jerseys may only be worn outside of school, underneath a blazer). The sleeveless v-neck jersey may be worn without a blazer outside school.
Hair RibbonsRoyal blue (1-3 cm wide) or regulation blue or black hair bands.
BagsRegulation navy blue school bag (obtained from Highway Schoolwear) or plain black bags. Any other bags will be confiscated.
SwimmingRoyal Blue

Casual UniformNavy blue golf shirt with red trimming (obtained from Highway Schoolwear).
Plain denim jeans/shorts/skirt.
P.E. KitRoyal blue running shorts and T-Shirt with school badge.
Sports KitIt is not necessary to purchase kit until your daughter has been selected for a team. The Sports Coaches will inform team players of the correct uniform, which is available from Highway Schoolwear.
The School tracksuit may not be worn during the school day.
NO SCARVES, GLOVES OR HATS ARE ALLOWED TO BE WORN WITH THE P.G.H.S. UNIFORM.
CASUAL UNIFORM POLICY
Casual Uniform is an informal uniform, which is worn when going on excursions or when attending certain functions at school such as our annual swimming gala.
Learners may only wear casual uniform when prior permission is granted.
No learner is compelled to wear the casual uniform. If she does not have the casual uniform she must wear her school uniform.
Casual uniform is still part of the P.G.H.S. uniform and therefore the normal hair, make-up and jewellery rules apply. No scarves, gloves or hats may be worn.
The Casual Uniform consists of:
ShirtThe navy blue golf shirt with red trimming.
Absolutely no other shirt is allowed.
Pants/SkirtJeans/¾ pants/shorts or skirts that are plain blue denim. Shorts and skirts must be no shorter than the formal school skirt.
JerseyONLY the school jersey may be worn with casual uniform.
ShoesBlack or brown
Must be flat
School shoes and white takkies are acceptable.
A learner with the incorrect casual uniform will be punished, and will also not be allowed to attend the function or excursion.
NO TRACK SUITS AT ALL
