Husky to show high speed system for manufacturing new lightweight water closures at Chinaplas 2008
Shanghai, China – Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced that it will be demonstrating the industry’s highest output system for finished water closures at Chinaplas (April 17-20, 2008, Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Hall E2, F01). This system offers better economics in combination with a unique safety feature that improves the tamper-evidence capability of the closure.
“Our new closure system will help customers create better quality parts that cost less to produce due to lightweighting and the output rates that are possible with our systems” said Gerardo Chiaia, President Husky Asia. “This is just one of several exciting innovations that Husky will be demonstrating at Chinaplas 2008.”
Fast cycles. High output.
The Hylectric 400 system that Husky will showcase at Chinaplas will produce in excess of 1900 closures per minute, making it the most productive closure system on the market today.
Closures that are both safer and lighter
By combining Corvaglia’s patent pending Break Then Leak (BTL) technology and Husky’s lightweighting capabilities, the closures will have both superior tamper evidence protection and reduced part weight. The HDPE water closure that will be produced at Chinaplas weighs less than 1.8 grams.
System Improvements
The Chinaplas closure system represents Husky’s ongoing commitment to continual improvement and technology innovation. The system features new control algorithms to reduce cycle time and an enhanced screw connection to manage the higher plasticizing rates.
At Chinaplas 2008, visitors to the Husky booth will also see:
· A HyPET 90 8-cavity system featuring Flex Mold which allows for fast and cost-effective mold changes in a single system that can be used for multiple applications
· Complete Life Cycle Management software and services that help customers achieve the lowest cost of operation at their injection molding facility
· The latest hot runner technologies including:
o New “ECO” Hot Runner System – an entry level hot runner system for applications requiring injection pressure of up to 2 000 bar (29 009 psi)
o High pressure Ultra 500VG – ideal for consumer electronics components and other applications that require injection pressure of up to 3 000 bar (43 500 psi) in combination with tight pitch spacing
o Ultra 350 nozzle series – designed for ultra-compact, multi-cavity production of small parts, including valve gating in difficult-to-access areas on a medical part or inside gating of closures
o New clean room capable, servo driven synchronized stem actuation for medical applications
o Altanium temperature control for better quality parts and faster cycles
