Special Notes
We will be looking for items again this year for the Workshop’s Silent Donation to the Wildland Fire Foundation. Most of you all have heard of the heroic work that the foundation undertakes every day. The lives they touch, and the families they have helped have been amazing. We are asking each and every one of you to bring as many items as you can to donate to the silent donation. We ask you to drop off your items and fill out a sheet on who donated the item. In the past years, we have averaged about 2500.00 in unselfish donations to support our brothers and sisters in the fire organization. Some of the past donations have been : wine, rice, baskets, diecast cars, walking sticks, knives, books, coats, hats, prints, airplane models, certificates to resorts, lobstergams, coffee baskets, chocolates, duck carvings and much more… We ask that you try and find unique items that may be from your state or area. We hope everyone that attends will bring something that they can donate. ***Remember you cannot donate items that were purchased with federal funds like fire t-shirts, coffee mugs/thermoses, pins, hats, and coats unless you purchased them with your own money OR received an item from your agencies that was given to you personally a non-monetary award and was approved and signed on forms by a line officer in the USFS or your agencies guidelines, whatever they may be.
