This is from the "Ground" group: Dawn, Kathy, Deb & Jennifer
Our answer was...
Engineering had a part in our
-grooming process (curling iron, clothes, blow dryer, etc.)
-transportation as a whole (car, gas pumps, traffic lights, etc.)
-homes & school (microwave, refrig, alarm clock, AC, alarms, etc.)
These are just a few examples we came up with on how engineering has effected our day one way or another. : )
Lamp Group
Engineering effected everything we did today. Getting out of bed on time, getting the right medicine (1 person in our group is diabetic) amounts, brushing our teeth, having coffee, having running water, & a whole lot of other things that now days we think that we can't live without. So basically what this group came up with was that engineering most effected our lives not just the things we do but our lives in general.

What has engineering most affected about your day so far?
It has allowed us to get to the workshop today with the transportation system (cars, highways, stoplights, etc.). The utilities in our house allowed us to get ready for the day. The home we live in allowed us a place to sleep and get ready.
How many computers have we used today?
We couldn't name them all.
Laptop of course, watch, many in our cars, stoplights, alarm clock

1. What has engineering most affected about your day today? We are
especially grateful for the cars and roads because without them, we would
not be here to learn all the wonderful information about the engineering
profession. Other conveniences like utilities, cell phones, and laptops
are things we take for granted and count on everyday. My sister is an
engineer currently working with the sewers in Omaha and I am grateful for
the clean water we have available.
2. How many computers have you used today? We have probably used more
computers than we think but just to name a few...our cars, alarm clock,
TV, computer, dishwasher, cell phone, and thermostat.

What has engineering most affected about your day today? We believe
that our everyday-world today is most affected by electricity.
Almost every activity we engage in uses electricity somehow.
How many computers have we used today? Uncountable--almost every
electronic item we use has some type of computer chip in it.
Diode -|>|- group:
1. transportation to this class
2. cell phone to call home
3. email so I could turn this in
4. Internet to turn this in
5. traffic light to control transportation
How many computers did you use today:
3, 4, 5... the answer isn't answerable. Depending on the definition of computer (including car, cell phone, fancy microwaves, etc.) then it could be a lot. If you start with the internet and include the number of servers you access and routers you traffic through then your in a higher number.
