Open College is one of several colleges that together constitute Luther King House Educational Trust, and due to the impending retirement of its current Principal, we are seeking to appoint a new Principal who will lead the college into the future.
The Principal will be responsible for all aspects of the life of Open College, and will provide vision and leadership as it seeks to offer high quality theological education now and into the future. S/he will be part of the senior management of Luther King House alongside the Principals of the other colleges, and will play an essential rolewithin the academic staff teaching team.
Luther King House is based two miles outside Manchester city centre, and is an inclusive and diverse learning community committed to the advancement of education in areas of Christian faith, practice and dialogue. Our degree programmes are in contextual theology and are validated by the University of Manchester. Our methods of learning and teaching have a reputation for creativity and imagination.
The Trustees are looking for outstanding candidates with appropriate qualifications (ideally at doctoral level), and with the skills and experience required to develop and manage Open College. Candidates will have experience of involvement in adult education, and have a strong commitment to inclusivity and equality.
There is an Occupational Requirement for the Principal to be Christian, as permitted in the Equality Act 2010.
