Minutes from Oct 14, 2009 BOD meetings were read and approved. Kozial motioned to approve minutes, second by Anthony. Vote to approve carried.

The following agenda items were discussed;

New board positions where discussed and decided. See above list.

Treasurers Report

  • 2009 Final Budget and 2010 Recommended Budget to be presented and approved by new board at December meeting.
  • 1099 tax form will be submitted for Max Bischmann, concessions employee.

Guest liaison, Spencer Frank, Tournament Teams and Jr. Blue Dukes Coordinator, was introduced and discussed the following;

  • Tournament Teams and Jr. Blue Dukes cannot be coordinated by anyone represented on the WFB Little League Board of Directors.
  • Mr. Frank has graciously taken on these duties but will work in conjunction with WFB Little League and WFB High School.
  • Purpose for the Jr. Blue Dukes Team is for kids who want to play more baseball outside of little league but in a more competitive situation and wish to improve skills.
  • Try-outs for Jr. Blue Dukes will be on Sat & Sun, Dec 5 & 6. Web site is up. JrBlueDukesbaseball.org Register on web for try-outs. Players will be evaluated on hitting, pitching and fielding. Players have to participate in little league in order to participate in Jr. Blue Dukes. Kids will not miss little league because of tournament play. Little league rules apply to pitch counts.
  • WFB high school baseball coach will offer coaching clinics to little league coaches on how to prepare players for baseball play beyond little league. High school coach will also offer player clinics on hitting, pitching and fielding. This is in an effort for little league to be able to prepare players for possible play at the high school level.

2010 Registration:

Sun, Dec 13 at Cahill Park.

Informational meeting for new PeeWees and new families from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. Registration from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. (1 Free Aerial Picture of Water Tower Park for each registering on Dec 13, 2009)

Sun, Jan 10 at Cahill Park from 5:00 – 7:00 PM

Wed, Jan 13 at Cahill Park from 5:00 – 7:00 PM (followed by board meeting)

2010 Tryouts:

Fri, Feb 19 at High School from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Fri, Mar 5 at High School from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Sun, Mar 21 at High School from 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Sun, Mar 28 at High School from 1:00 – 4:00 PM

2010 Draft: Tentatively last week of Mar or first week of April (Good Friday is April 2)

2010 All Star Planning & Vote

Incoming board in Dec will identify next planning steps & vote. Deakin asked all current board members to identify the learnings from this past year.

End of the Year Survey

Approximately #175 responses received from league members. The board was very pleased with response rate. Miller will make all general comments made available to WFB LL members. Coaches will be given a scorecard for their review. Coach’s comments will not be made public. If a coach problem is identified, the board will deal with the situation on a per case basis.

Forms

Deakin will update all forms for board member consideration especially registration forms. Board members must make sure all info is included at the time of registration so additional follow-up is not required.

2009 End of the Season Activities (Winterize Snack Shack, Fields, Cages & Nets)

Almost all of winterizing has been complete as of Nov. meeting or will be finalized within the next week.

Other

Tues, Jun 22 – Little League Fund Raiser at the Brewers Night

Next meeting will be on Wednesday, December 9 at 7:00 PM at Cahill Park.

Gaeta motioned to adjourn the meeting, second by Otero. Vote to conclude carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 PM.
