Goal Statement: To increase concrete’s share of parking lots from 4% to 15% by year 2010.
Objectives:
- Educate owners, specifiers, contractors, and the general public about the benefits of concrete parking lots.
- Identify, develop, and support a qualified contractor base that will install concrete parking lots.
- Support KRMCA members, designers, and specifiers with all industry resources and design assistance.
- Develop and implement an incentive plan for KRMCA members who convert parking lots to concrete.
- Develop a plan where members can confidentially report all parking lots in Kentucky.
Objective 1: Educate owners, specifiers, contractors, and public officials about the benefits of concrete parking lots.
Strategies
1.1 Target the design community in Kentucky.
1.2 Target green-minded building owners and designers.
1.3 Target construction that is challenged by stormwater run off.
1.4 Educate designers and public officials about upfront and long-range advantages of concrete parking lots.
1.5 Start a green concrete award program of designers.
