FESTIVALS
Friendship Day : Friendship Day is celebrated to show our friends how much we care and
pray that we remain friends for a long time to come.
Independence Day:India got Independence from British rule on 15th August 1947. Every
year we celebrate this day with Flag hoisting. The Prime Minister hoists
the National Flag at the Red Fort.
Raksha Bandhan:Sisters tie colourful threads or rakhis on their brothers wrists and
brothers in turn promise to protect them and give them gifts.
Janmashtami :Janmashtami is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. People
sing bhajans, chant “Hare Krishna and offer special puja” .
*Significance of festivals will be inculcated during the Special Assembly.
