Job Purpose
To develop, test and administer software to meet business needs.
Responsibilities & Duties
  1. Develop, test and administer software through the use of any of the following:
  • Microsoft SharePoint 2010/13: Administration, integrations, optimisation, workflow design, AD Sync, Snap Manager and system enhancements
  • Web Application:Secure and resilient web based systems development
  • Bespoke Software: Development of software applications to meet business needs
  • Database Design:Enterprise database solutions
  • Mobile App: Software for tablets, phones and other mobile devices
  • Cloud: Development of scalable cloud based solutions
  • Business Systems: Administration and support of third party business systems
  • Microsoft SQL: Database administration and day to day house keeping
  • Microsoft Dynamics: Administration and development
  • Presentation: Demonstrate and present software to a wide variety of audiences
  • Training and Support: Provide user training and support as required
  • Ordnance Survey:Assist with the proposed national mapping services agreement
  • Customer service: Provide high levels of customer service to all customers
  • LLPG: Create, edit and maintain a Local Land and Property Gazetteer
  • GIS: Create, edit and maintain information on the Councils Geographical Information System
  1. Project Management and documentation: Carry out work in a structure way using the Council’s project management methodology where appropriate, estimating the time and effort required to deliver systems and components and maintaining system documentation in line with service standards.
  2. Provide high levels of service to all customers and understanding of customer and business requirements.
  3. Carry out research into new products and technologies and make recommendations on their use.
  4. Participate in standby arrangements and work flexibly including evenings and weekends in line with business needs and as required.
  5. To actively promote the use, development, implementation and identification of digital systems in all aspects of work.
  6. On leaving the Authority, to participate in current exit strategy arrangements as required by the Head of Service.
