Saturday 3rd of June saw the members of the federation send a total of 1012 birds to Rivenhall in Essex a distance of approximately 210 miles and chief convoyer Steve Profitt got the birds away at 10.30am into a south west wind. Once again where the Hartlepool HS led the way when Sonny & Phil Galloway timed at 3.01pm to record a velocity 1374 and give the Father & son partnership their second club and fed win of the season. Second club and 3rd fed where the ever present Ian & David Maddison team on 1368 and for good mearure they have another two on 1349 & 1346 to win third and fourth club and seventh and eighth fed followed by the also super consistent Lilley & Son who record 1340 for fifth club tenth fed.
At Chester Road in the West End HS Mr & Mrs Robinson lead the way when timing at 3.01pm to record a velocity of 1370 and win their club by quite a large margin and occupy second place in the federation result, Steve Addison is their clubs only other representative on the result when he records a velocity of 1328 which is good enough for 27th place in the fed result.
At the Stranton HS Terry Atkinson is really starting to make inroads into Bob Trowsdale’s runaway lead on the Burn Valley allotments when he times at 3.01pm to record a velocity of 1361 to win 4th federation but yet again Bob Trowsdal is hot on his heels when recording 1350 to win 2nd club & 7th fed and Bob backs this one up with another three timings to take 3rd, 4th & 5th club and win fed places of 21st, 25th & 26th.
Up at the Manor Bobby Powton starts to show more consistency when he again takes the first two places with velocities of 1357 & 1351 to be 5th & 6th federation while Geach Bros & Mckenna have to be happy with 3rd & 5th club again and 11th14th fed Bobby timing again to split these two and take 12th place in the fed result.
At the Supporters Mr & Mrs Brian Noble continue to dominate proceedings when they time at 3.08pm their first bird recording a velocity of 1335 and their second bird records 1328 these two winning 1st & 2nd club and 13th & 28th federation and being their clubs on representatives in the federation result.
At the Belle Vue John & Terry Chapman get back to winning ways after a bit of a lull when they time at 3.07pm and record a velocity of 1330 which is good enough for 22nd place in the federation result and is their only club timing that figures on the federation result.
