Minutes for April 3rdh, 2008 meeting: 7:30 p.m.

Present:

2)Approval of previous minutes: Bill Atella made the made the motion, Sully seconded it, approved.
3)Agenda approved
4)ASEP next on is the 14th, next general meeting is the 16th. ASEP is 6:30 to 9:00.
5)First Aid Training: VP’s call your managers!
6)Coaches clinic update: April 13th noon Prairie Ridge. Per Todd O’Connor
7)Board Member Coverage: Same as last year. Last game participants, shut down the field.
8)Team Mom update: Fred has a date set April 10th at Amcore Bank, 7:30-9:00. Fred and Drew. Please send an email out to the VP’s.
9)VP’s meet with Managers. Set up your meetings. Rookies have met.
10)Uniforms: the shirts are in and are at think ink. Damato will send out information. We need sponsors for 6 teams. Please check the web for forms. Mike C. made a motion for teams w/o sponsors that we put locations that have “supported” us in the past. An example would be a meeting place like Amcore. Jeff Norton made a second. Approved.
11) Dated and times for Field Days. April 3rd we have the water on! Thorguard Batery for $136 was bought today. Parts for tractor air filter $110. Dumster will arrive April 4th. We will also get another for just cardboard. The P.D. will recycle out of dumpster. Will get 4 portopoties. $180 a month for 4 units. Looking at getting breakers fixed for lights within the next week or two. Bill called Hogan Roofing, they will re-roof the shingles on the concession stand that need replaced at no cost. Scoreboards bill and bill are making calls to find a person to look at the scoreboards.
A) What do we want to do with the batting cages? A suggestion was made to put cross beams every ten feet and galvanized wires across. This will make it more stable. This will cost $1,700. We have around $5000 for capital improvements. Bob Witte made a motion to fix the cages for $1,700 Todd made a second. Approved.
B)Extend deadline for raffle tickets due date to April 16th general meeting. You will also get your uniforms at that time.
C)Screen are up on 1,2,3. This was march 29th. We will also show teams how to break things downs after a game.
D)Speakers: Bill will fix it. Do demos to figure out
12) Opening day
a)We need a drum: Mike will take of the drum

e)Vp’s need to make sure locations and order are handled. Separate leagues like last year. Majors, minor 1, minor 2, rookies.
f)Color guard: handled by bill atella. Fire station with the flag? Yes.. Jim Zacher will handle
g)Ron miller is ready his bio is in. Penny Johns is ready. She will arrive at 8:30. Should we call the paper to tell them we are recognizing ron miller and penny. Jim will call the Herald.
13) Background checks to bill hunter. Would like to have done by opening day. The target is at the april 16th general meeting. Will also have opening day directions.
14)Gold Committee. Jeff cheated. June 6thh. Shotgun start. $80.
15)Fall Ball. Bill Rowe. Flyers need to be ready by June 1st.
16)Miscellaneous: Sully has a 11 or 12 year old that just moved back into town. The dad is asking if it is to late to put him on a major west? Yes, he will play on the east. Sully and todd want an umpire for Saturday april 5th.
17)Jeff is organizing practice games. Schedules are not ready yet. We are waiting for continental. Should have by 10-13th. That is not definite. If the vp’s check the schedules please look for errors. Only the vp’s can approach jeff about “issues” first aid kits by?
18)Meeting places: general mtg on 16th at library or salvation army. Next two general meeting American community bank and trust may 1st and june 16th. By the post office.
19)May 19th and june 5th duke obriens 8:30. Board.
