February 20 – March 15 (4 weeks) / 4th, 3rdand possibly 2nd if needed
April 17 - May 10 (4 weeks) / 1st, 2nd (3rd & 4th are testing)
In alignment of our District and School Improvement Plans, to meet:
Principle 3 – Redesign the school day, week or year to include additional time for student learning
Principle 4 – Strengthen the school’s instructional program based on student needs
Principal 5 – Use data to inform instruction and for continuous improvement
Mt. Adams School District is hiring Reading Intervention Teacher(s) for an after school program for grades K-4
Energetic, motivated certificated teacher needed to support K-4th grade students in attaining grade level reading ability.
· Contact and recruit struggling readers to program
· Strategically intervene with struggling readers
· Record and track attendance and formative assessment data on a weekly basis, providing data to Harrah Elementary Instructional Coach and Director of Teaching & Learning at the end of each session
· Use pre and post-assessments to set individual student goals and monitor (reading level and progress made
· Develop effective plans utilizing the SIMPLE 6 to support students in attaining grade level reading levels
· Provide differentiation/scaffolding to meet student needs
· Provide progress reports to parents every two weeks
· Plan for and provide “at home” reading intervention strategies to parents
· Communicate to parents interventions used at school to increase reading level
· Communicate and share data with students’ teachers for in school reading intervention instructional decisions
Intervention Class on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Teachers will receive 1 hour of planning for each hour of reading intervention they plan and teach.
