1. Scope of Addon release
Testing of new VMware Horizon View Client 2.3.0 Add-on support as part of protocol refresh on SP1 build 11.1.070 for C50LE and R50LE hardware.

This add-on package is comprised of single zip file as specified in following table:

3. Target Environment
These add-on and scripts are intended to be run in an environment with C50LE and R50LE units and WDM 4.9.1 server running the following software versions:
Platforms considered for Test: C50LE & R50LE
Running build version: 11.1.070
WDM version : 4.9.1
Running server version: 4.9.1 builds 241 with Hotfixes [HF04091031613, HF04091025213, HF04091013713 and HF04091034412], Configured with repository set as: ftp, http and https.
4. Installation Methods
The following are the recommend steps to install and configure the add-on that are provided.
Method1: The following are the steps to install and configure the add-on through INI and Upgrade settings applet or Add-on Manager.
1. Copy the add-on to the root path Wyse\addons
2. Installation can be done via FTP/HTTP(s) protocols. At the client side, the image server details need to be
configured either through DHCP scope options or using the INI Settings applet.
Upgrade sever Manual configuration.
a. Computer->Control Center->INI Settings->“Image Upgrade Settings”
Or
Add-on Manager-> server settings.
b. This will popup, “Thin Client Settings” window.
c. Configure upgrade details and click OK
d. Enable add-on check-box and click Execute
Method2: Using WDM Server
1) Add the following rsp scripts on the WDM server:
slect11sp1-vmware_viewclient-2.3.0-1551379.rsp
2) On Default Device Configuration (DDC) perform the following steps:
a. Select Default Device Configuration option under Configuration Manager and right click, and select New -> DDC
b. Under Primary Definition tab, select Operating System as SUSE Linux, Media size to 1000MB, Qualifying OS Image as “No Images”, and select Next
Under Software Package tab, select and add the “slect11sp1-vmware_viewclient-2.3.0-1551379” package, and select next.
c. On Execution Time window, select time or upon Hagent check-in, and click on Next
d. Click on Finish
3) DDC Execution Process:
After next partial/Full check-in of device DDC gets triggered and install the add-on.
Method3: Installation through INI parameter
a) Copy the add-on to the root path wyse\addons
b) Add ini parameter NewAddons= vmware_viewclient-2.3.0-1551379 in wlx.ini
c) Restart the TC
5. Summary of testing scenarios
The following is a summary of the testing scenarios that were executed on addon deliverables for Installation methods.
1) WDM DDC installation: Verified Install-sletc-vmware_viewclient-2.3.0-1551379 add-on installation successfully on the WDM server using DDC method.
2) WDM D & D installation: Verified Install-sletc-vmware_viewclient-2.3.0-1551379 add-on installation successfully on the WDM server using D & D method.
3) INI method of installation: Verified Install-sletc-vmware_viewclient-2.3.0-1551379 add-on installation successfully using INI parameters.
Note: use the following INI parameters for install/un-install of add-on..

Test Coverage :
1. Executed all TCWB’s with VMware Horizon View Servers 5.2 and 5.3
2. Executed all VMware Horizon View Client Certification test cases using 12.0 submission log
Test Results: No Major Issues observed in VMware Horizon View Client 2.3.0 version.
Note: There is no support for new VMWare INI parameters on SP1 builds.
6. Known Issues
The below table contains the TIR’s details which are existing in VMware 2.3 version.
Issue Id / Summary /TIR71257 / VMWare 5.2 : Typo under VMWare View Client Settings -> Secure Preferences tab. /
TIR71305 / VMWare 5.2: File -> Disconnect from Server option should be disabled if Lock the Server URL/Host field is selected. /
TIR71353 / VMWARE: "Disconnect and Logoff" option from menu bar is not functioning as expected when user is in lock mode. /
TIR71383 / VMware View5.2: RDP Client Error messages appear in the screen after removing the network cable. /
