All Risks Insurance - Major Events
Over 60 clubs now insure their equipment under our special policy. It is also available for short-period cover for equipment hired or borrowed for major events, as follows:-
POLICY:All risks of physical loss or damage – Cedar Insurance Co Ltd
COVERING:Orienteering equipment as per details supplied by the club whilst at homes of club members and elsewhere in the United Kingdom, including in transit and at events
CONDITIONS:A summary of cover is attached
To arrange cover, simply complete the following details and send to us at the above address. The normal premium rate is £5 per £1000 subject to a minimum of £45 (only £20 if your club has "annual" cover), plus Insurance Premium Tax @ 5%, plus an administration fee of £10.

This policy is for orienteering clubs, principally members of BOF. However BOF have no involvement with the policy or cover.

SUMMARY OF COVER - SINGLE EVENT
TYPE:All risks of physical loss or damage

SUM INSURED:As per invoice (minimum premium normally covers approx. £5,000)

SITUATION:Homes of club members and elsewhere in the United Kingdom
CONDITIONS:As per policy. Note especially:-
Sum insured / claim settlement based on replacement for equipment bought new and “indemnity” if second-hand, i.e. replacement by similar second-hand.
Subject to average (i.e. if sum insured is lower than total value at risk, claim will be proportionately reduced).
Excess each and every loss £75, increased to £250 for theft from timber shed and for all claims for marquees, i.e. tents worth over £1,000.
Timber shed also subject to exclusion of water damage other than from storm or flood and theft without forcible entry or exit
Includes temporary storage in a secure building whilst in use for an event.
Includes equipment in vehicle(s) of club member(s) provided vehicle is secure, i.e. locked when unoccupied, and electronic equipment is concealed from view.
Excludes unattended equipment overnightunless kept in a secure building or vehicle.
Excludes unattended toilets without underwriters’ prior agreement (other than at an event if inaccessible to general public).
Excludes damage to tents or marquees during erection/dismantling.
Excludes wear, tear, moth, vermin and gradual deterioration.
Excludes mechanical or electrical breakdown of the equipment.
Excludes damage during cleaning/repairing/restoring any article.
Excludes breakage of brittle articles i.e. "fragile or easily broken".
Excludes loss of cash/entry fees and personal belongings etc..
Excludes consequential loss, e.g. loss of revenue/hire of replacement equipment.
PREMIUM:Minimum £45.00 per event (£20.00 for club covered by annual policy)
Plus Insurance Premium Tax of 5% / Richard Weston Ltd policy charge of £10.00
