Mondial Congress & Events believes in home-grown leaders
Vienna, 18 April 2016
In order to better react to current developments in the meetings industry, Professional Congress Organiser (PCO) Mondial Congress & Events has revised its organisational structure and added a new management level. Barbara Skrott is now Director of National Projects, Florian Fehringer becomes Director of International Projects.
In the 50 years since its inception, the family business Mondial Congress & Events has experienced steady but continuous growth. Now, in 2016, 30 team members manage a client base that is constantly growing larger, more demanding and also more international. In the past seven years alone, Mondial Congress & Events has doubled its staff resources. At the same time, the share of international business in total turnover has risen from barely more than zero, to 50 per cent.
To react to these new challenges, the organisational structure of Mondial Congress & Events has been reviewed and a new management level added. Barbara Skrott is now in charge of business from Austria as Director of National Projects, while Florian Fehringer handles business abroad as Director of International Projects.
Both Skrott and Fehringer have each led congress projects with roughly 10.000 participants and have been with Mondial since they first entered the meetings industry. "Congresses remain a team undertaking", Mondial CEO Gregor Kadanka explains. "Team members should be given the opportunity to grow their skills and shape the company." Thus, the central concept of the family business is being extended to all team members – the next generation gets to share the driver's seat.
"The congress business is getting more and more complex. In the future, national and international meetings will increasingly require different approaches," Kadanka adds. "To be ahead of their game, PCOs must refocus their strengths early on and make sure expertise is equally distributed among team members."
