Job Goal

The successful implementation and maintenance of the Brevard School District centralized free and reduced application processing program. Provide interface between the School District and parents regarding the feeding status of all students.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent

2. Minimum of three years experience in the application of the WinSnap free and reduced processing module.

3. Valid Florida Drivers License.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of computers with extensive skills in PC-based applications including word processing. Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements for free/reduced processing. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Ability to work well with people. Ability to organize and accomplish tasks without direction or immediate supervision.

Performance Responsibilities: Essential Functions

1. Prepare and maintain a detailed District manual describing the free and reduced application eligibility approval process.

2. Ensures all applications for meal benefits are correctly processed within 10 working days after being received by Food and Nutrition Services.

3. Complete the verification process for meal benefits according to USDA requirements.

4. Develop procedures and forms to maintain accurate and appropriate records that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

5. Have direct certification letters printed and verify mailing to households.

6. Provide copies of free and reduced meal applications to all schools for placement in the enrollment packages.

7. Follow up with phone calls or letters to parents for verification of missing or incorrect information.

8. Notify all households in a timely manner of their free and reduced status as determined by Food and Nutrition Services.

9. Process batch applications with a cover sheet that shows the batch number, number of documents scanned, signature of coordinator, and date they were scanned. File by batch number.

Physical Demands (from supplement)

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, an/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Work Environment (from supplement)

None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).

Terms of Employment

Bargaining – Professional/Technical – Hourly - 12 months- 8.0 hours

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of Board policy on evaluation of personnel.
