Warren was born in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada July 16, 1944. He moved with his parents to Indiana in 1955. The family settled in Monticello, Indiana, and he attended the Logansport church school for his fifth and sixth grades. His seventh grade was at the Lafayette church school. But the highlight of his elementary education was his eighth grade year when he transferred to Indianapolis Junior Academy and lived with the George Dunder family.

After completing the 10thgrade he became a junior at Indiana Academy and graduated in 1962 asPresident and Valedictorian of his class. Warren stated, “Indiana Academy was my portal into life, where I experienced the power of faith, the importance of relationships, the rudiments of research, the challenge of leadership, and the reality of death.”

1966 he graduated from Andrews University with a theology major and a history minor. To help supplement his income during these educational days, he worked for Kenny Rollins painting farm buildings.

Not only did the Academy provide quality education, but it also introduced him to his future wife Marilyn Beaumont. They were married in 1967 and now have three sons: Mark, David, and Kevin.

After graduating from college Warren was called by the Southern New England Conference and sent to the Seminary at Andrews University. Upon completing the Bachelor of Divinity degree (Now Master of Divinity) in 1968, he was assigned to the Atlantic Union College Church as Assistant Pastor. In 1970 he moved to Illinois with his family to study at the University of Chicago, where he received a PhD in New Testament and Early Christian Literature.

In 1975 Warren accepted a call to what is now Canadian University College, where for the next twenty years he taught religious studies and served for six years as Vice President for Academic Administration. In 1995 La Sierra University invited Warren to become Senior Assistant to the President. He was appointed as a tenured professor and Director of Graduate Programs in the School of Religion in 1997, positions he still holds despite partially retiring in 2011. He served as University Provost 2004-2010. During his career Warren published four books and numerous articles.

We are very proud of the leadership of our Indiana Academy graduates. Not only in the states but around the world we will find people like Warren supporting God's work with their time talent and energy. Warren, we are happy to welcome you into the Indiana Academy Hall of Remembrance.
