III. Advisor Announcements: Demetria Lawrence

  • Demetria reminded the clubs that the last ICC meeting for the semester would be on December 8, 2008.
  • She congratulated the clubs for the success of the club day.
  • Demetria also reminded the clubs about the upcoming events –

-January 7 & 8, 2009: LMC Spring Student Leadership Retreat.

-January 31, 2009: UC Berkeley Student Leadership Symposium (Trip is for free! and Deadline for sign-ups is January 22, 2009).

V. Special Announcements

  • Heidi said she had to leave early.
  • Eddy thanked the clubs for their hard work during club day.

VI. Club Reports/Requests

  • Crystal reported that the Flashback dance was a huge success, and they earned a total of $478.00.
  • Heidi suggested that the club day for next semester be better organized.
  • Christina reported that there were three winners from Turkey for a Turkey. She also said that barrel had been placed with signs in each department for the can food collection. She reported that the LMCAS scholarship was until December 16, 2008, and LMCAS had elected new officers.
  • Heidi reported that the Scuba Squad scholarship would be awarding 8 people the following week. She also said that the club sold glow items at the Flashback dance.
  • Heidi left at 3:30 p.m.

VII. Unfinished Business

  1. Finals week stress relief
  • Crystal reported that she had ordered for Red Bull energy drinks, she had contacted two schools for the massages and the charge was $50/day.
  • Crystal asked if the board had decided on how the stress relief would occur time wise, for specific days or continuous.
  • Demetria replied that she had discussed with Dave Belman and they talked about either having it for two days or for a whole week but with different activities for each day.
  • The clubs decided to have it for two days.

Call for a motion to have the Finals stress relief for Monday and Tuesday, December 15 and 16, 2008

  • Crystal said that she was working with Western Community College and they were asking for how many misuses the board would want.
  • Demetria replied that 4 – 6 of them would be fine.
  • Crystal asked for a budget, and Demetria suggested $750.00.

  • Aurelio suggested that there be fruits. He volunteered to work with his mom to make the fruits available.
  • Demetria noted that a PowerPoint would have to be made for the Finals Stress Relief, and Crystal said that she would take care of that.

  • Demetria announced the first ICC meeting for the spring semester would be on January 26, 2009.
