JOURNAL ENTRY

Darryl Shumpert, Lorain County Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services/Communities That Care “The LACADA Way” thanked the Commissioners for their time and this is the 5th anniversary, Lorain County’s 4th annual WE ARE THE MAJORITY. This will take place next Thursday, April 28 from 9-noon.

Several students that are involved were present today and look forward to it each year; Hannah Floyd, Brookside High School
Simeon Lawrence, Elyria High School and Mer'sedes Gwinn, Elyria High School, Spokesperson. They all stated that this is a group of students that are the majority and stand against drugs. It is an important cause, we need to stop the drugs, stop the funerals and come together.

Kathy Ritenauer, Lorain County Prosecutors Office said Columbus, Cuyahoga and Lorain County will have the rally on Thursday at the same time; there are over 2000 kids involved and 80 kids from Lorain County will join the rally in Columbus this year. Mr. Shumpert said it was opened to middle school this year as well. So all together rallies will feature around 4,000 kids; 730 from Lorain County involving 14 schools. The students will be at EHS from 9-11 am and then begin the march at 11:30 to Ely square and hold hand ending at noon. Commissioner Kalo asked if we are providing water this year. Mr. Shumpert said he spoke with Brandi in Solid Waste and they have it. Mr. Cordes said Commissioners have said ok and he will speak with Solid Waste

Commissioner Kokoski said there is a new drug going around that is 7,000 time stronger than morphine and K9’s that come in contact can even be taken down even 7-10 narcon’s can not relieve. She stated drug dealers don’t care about anyone just that money this momentum of students needs to stay strong and just say no.

Mr. Shumpert said he spoke with Amherst High track team about getting hurt and having prescription drugs, it’s not good. He will continue to education and make awareness.

At the south right-of-way line of State route 303 at the northeast corner of Parcel No. 1400087000009 and running southwesterly and westerly crossing under Pitts Road to the corner of Parcel No. 1400088000017; thence southerly to the easterly line of the Lakeshore Railway on Parcel No. 1400088000008; and

Nature of Work is to Clearing trees and debris from the ditch and alongside of the ditch and cleaning the bottom of the ditch; and

Whereas, It appears to said Board that the Stormwater District will pay for such bond that has been filed with the Clerk approved, conditioned for the payment of costs of notices, plus any other incidental expenses, except the cost made by the Engineer in making his survey, maps, plans, profiles and schedules, if the prayer of the petitioner is not granted, or if said petition is for any cause dismissed; therefore, be it
