PTO Minutes

Forum

Present: Mr. Smith, Mrs. Voelz, David Dornfeld, Kim Rocker, Kelli Adams, Shelly Orborune, Katie Booth, Renee Degner, Laura Eftimovski

Principal’s Report: Mr. Smith expressed his thanks for recent events such as walk-a-ton, teacher appreciation, etc. New windows have been installed on top of the 2x4s, which will allow for the slope of the new roof. Striping on the parking lots is done. New lights will be installed in the parking lots. Front lot awnings have been repaired. Fluorescent tube lighting will be replaced with LEDs. Report cards should come home on Friday. Istep and Iread will be completely online this year including typing. This is the last year for Istep. Next year the new test will be rolled out. Next year’s new test is an adaptive-difficulty test of about 8 hours (untimed) once a year. The BCSC calendar will be voted on soon.

President’s Report: Nothing to report.

Vice President: Nothing to report.

Secretary: Nothing to report.

Treasurer: The sprit logoware was purchased. Landscaping costs were paid to Tasha Tyner. Mrs. Harman is interested in purchasing die cuts. If teachers have a request for die cuts, please let Shelly Osbourne know.

Logo Clothing: Logo clothing is going well. There were 21 angel shirts this year.

Social Committee: Roller skating party is October 26.

Green Team – Parkside Court: Nothing to report.

In-House Green Team: Nothing to report

Bonus Programs: Megan Eaton will send in box tops shortly.

Book Fair: There will be a Clifford costume at the book fair this year. Everything has been set up with Scholastic. The schedule will be passed out to teachers on Thursday. Kelli Adams is doing recruiting and promoting. The book fair is Nov 10. We will do the teacher wish list again this year. For every dollar we raise for our library, Scholastic will match a book.

Parker Bear: Nothing to report.

Newsletter: The newsletter going well.

Staff Appreciation: Smell-good soaps and encouraging signs in the staff bathroom, and hot chocolate bar after winter break.

· Kindergarten – Mrs. Grider expressed thanks for the dinner during parent-teacher conferences.

· 4th – Art to Remember order forms go home today and are due the 26th.

Walk-a-thon: Money is still coming in for the walk-a-thon. Kim shared ideas about walk-a-thon fundraising. Prizes have been ordered.
